JoJo Diggs

This & last week, LA has been able to bless the DMV with the presence of Jojo Diggs!  Jojo will be teaching this Thursday’s Culture Shock DC Advanced/Professional Company class and workshops in House/Hip Hop/Jazz Funk at Contradiction Dance.  If you haven’t heard of her or seen her style/choreography, then you need to get on it!

Born in Germany, Jojo discovered her passion for dance at the age of 22 when she abandoned her 9-5 jobs to pursue something completely unique: ballroom dance instructing. Her passion for dance grew over time and she began to train in many other styles, including hip hop, breakdance, jazz, locking, punking, tap, modern, African, house, and more.

Jojo spearheaded several dance teams including Culture Shock, D.C., Broken Toyx AZ, and InFamous LA.  Jojo has instructed along side world renown choreographers such as Tabitha & Napoleon, Tony Czar, Miguel, and Lyle Beniga. Her choreography has been showcased at Internationally recognized places such as the Nokia Center and Kodak Theatre in LA, across the United States, and Switzerland. She has danced with the world-famous Popping Pete and Omarion and can be seen on commercials representing DancePlug.com.

Today Jojo merges both feminine and masculine styles with traditional and original styles as she commands the stage in performances across the east and west coasts. She can be found with a smile on her face teaching Hip Hop at Debbie Reynolds, Jazz Funk at Edge Performing Arts Center, freestyling at a local House club. She encourages others to live in the moment by doing so herself, and looks forward to helping others grow and smile even more in the future.
