If there is anything positive about dance, its that dance can DO positive things. It can make you feel you good. It can entertain. It can express, and it can inspire (as well as other things, too)! DynamiQ Faction hasn’t lost vision of this positivity by helping establish a dance showcase to promote awareness on social and community issues that could possibly effect most of us. After a year and a half since their humble beginnings, this Queen based team still manages to do some GOOD with dance.

DynamiQ Faction, a Queens based hip-hop dance team, was formed in April 2008 with the mission to use the art of dance to provide a truly positive environment for people of all ages and backgrounds. Part of that mission is to establish an annual showcase that will continue to grow with each coming year and eventually reach hundreds of people.

Now, a year later and a half later, DynamiQ is expanding that vision with the intention to use the showcase to promote awareness and raise funds for a cause that directly impacts members on the team,breast cancer. Partnering with various sponsors, survivors of breast cancer and other dance teams in the community, DynamiQ Faction brings to you Dance for Life! Proceeds from this event will go to the National Breast Cancer Foundation (www.nationalbreastcancer.org).

Teamwork is beautiful — Especially if its two teams working together for an even better cause! The YMCA Stronger Kids campaign present NYC with a DynamiQ Faction x World Class Dancers collaboration to help raise funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation and the Stronger Kids Campaign.  In addition, Ryan Feng of QUEST CREW from MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew, Season 3, will be in the house teaching class and signing autographs for the fans! Both NYC teams are helping their community raise awareness and raise money for the campaign.  If you’ve got a a case of the MONDAYS, then do yourself some GOOD: take this class, and feel GOOD about doing some GOOD.

The latest in a series of FREE workshops brings two of the scene’s most renowned dancers to the Ocean State.  (If you didn’t know, that’s Rhode Island.  Really.)

Julio Morales (The Lost Kids, Neverland) & Rocko Luciano (Boxcuttuhz ABDC 3, Neverland) are coming to Providence, RI on Sunday, November 15 from 6:00-8:00 PM. The classes will be held at TF Green Hall, Room 205, at Brown University – and as always, they’re FREE.  Registration starts at 5:30 – and these classes tend to be crowded, so get there early if you want a good spot.

The classes are co-sponsored by Rhode Island’s own imPulse Dance Company, Fusion Dance Company, and Aesthetic Flo.  Be on the lookout for more classes in the future… and a major announcement for Rhode Island in the upcoming days…

Elements X, Boston’s largest hip hop dance competition, is going down this Saturday.  Recently HHDA Certified for its 10th anniversary, Elements X is definitely a show not to miss.

“On Saturday, November 14th, 2009, ELEMENTS X is giving Boston and East Coast crews the opportunity to go head-to-head in a full concert format competition to be held in the gorgeous, 1600+ seat Boston Colonial Theatre, located in the heart of the city. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will be presented awards and prizes, with the $1000 grand prize being awarded to 1st place.”
